

The Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans (Emory VCV) provides pro bono legal services for veterans, assisting them and their families with disability benefit claims both before the VA and in subsequent appellate proceedings. If you are a military veteran or military spouse, thank you for your service. The Emory VCV assists low-income military veterans and military spouses with discharge upgrades, disability benefits claim, powers of attorney, wills, and advance directives for healthcare. The Georgia State University Veterans Legal Assistance Program (GSUVLAP): GSUVLAP provides free legal services to veterans on any Georgia State campus. A partnership among the College of Law, ROTC Department and the Military and Veterans Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the program and its volunteers will help veterans with most legal issues, including veterans’ benefits, rating and discharge issues, divorce, wills, landlord/ tenant issues and others. The UGA School of Law Veterans Legal Services provides veterans in Georgia with legal assistance they might not otherwise have access to or be able to afford, with particular regard to denied or deferred claims before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It also includes an educational scholarship component. The clinic is based near the UGA campus in downtown Athens and serves veterans and their dependents across the state of Georgia.
